Madison’s junior varsity girls basketball opened the 2019-20 season with a 35-26 win over Charlestown at home on Thursday.

Cameron Cahall had 11 points to lead the Cubs while Cadence Traylor scored 10.

Madison, now 1-0, travels to Lawrenceburg on Tuesday.

Madison Athletics is selling sports passes in the athletic office prior to the winter season.

Pass Prices are: Family of four, $150; Individual, $50; Senior/Student, $30. Come to Door 5 during the school day or at a winter event during the season to purchase.

Madison is also now reserving seats for boys/girls basketball games. You can reserve by coming to the athletic office located at Door 5, or reserve at a basketball game. Those wishing to reserve seating for Boys/Girls season, should do so before Jan. 1. Seats not reserved prior to Jan. 1, will open up for next year.

Madison Parks Department is accepting applications for its 2019 Cheerleading Program.

The program is open to ages five through sixth grade and cost is $50 or $10 for 2019 football cheerleaders.

Tryouts for the Indiana Rage Volleyball Club will be held at the Southwestern High School gym on Sunday.

Girls ages 10 to 14 will run from 2-3:30 p.m. and ages 15 to 17 run from 4-5:30 p.m.

The Switzerland County Pacer Varsity Club will hold its annual fundraising dinner on Thursday, Nov. 14 at Belterra Casino and Resort.

This year’s keynote speaker is former Cincinnati Bengal running back Ickey Woods. In addition to raising money, the Pacer Varsity Club will also induct this year’s Hall of Fame class.
