Southwestern’s boys tennis team honored its seniors and then swept Madison in straight sets 5-0 to claim victory at home on Wednesday.

Only three matches were contested due to low numbers by Madison. The Rebels’ Landon DeAtley picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Bryce Miller at No. 1 singles while Austin Caldwell beat Matthew Burkhardt 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Braylon Renschler picked up a forfeit win at No. 3 singles.

In doubles, Carter Harmon and Derrick Osborn beat Alex Wang and Tucker Whitaker 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 whole Kenny Yount and Korben Schindler picked up a forfeit win at No. 2.

Madison, now 0-7 on the season, hosts New Albany on Tuesday.

Southwestern, now 6-2 on the season, traveled to New Washington on Friday and hosts the Southern Indiana Tennis Conference championships today. The Rebels head to Henryville on Monday.
