Transylvania unleashed 64 shots and rolled over Hanover 22-5 in men’s lacrosse in the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference opener for both teams Wednesday in Lexington, Kentucky.

Noah King and Al Alessia each scored goals for Hanover in the first quarter and the two teams were tied at 2-2 early. But Transy ripped off seven-straight goals and led 13-4 at the half en route to the easy win.

Transylvania (4-2, 1-0 HCLC) outshot Hanover 64-15 and scored at least four goals in each quarter. The Panthers managed just one goal in the second half.

King had two goals to lead Hanover while Ian Kimmins and Bret Schell each added a goal. Kimmins also led the Panthers in shots with four.

Noah Dubrava stopped 20 shots and allowed 16 goals in the pipes for Hanover while Sean O’Mara had two saves in relief.

Hanover, now 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the HCLC, faces Kean (N.J.) at Bellarmine University in Louisville on Saturday.
