Trimble County's baseball team broke up a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the fifth inning en route to a 6-3 win over Owen County on Thursday in Bedford.

Owen County struck first to lead 1-0 after the top of the first, but the Raiders answered in the bottom half of the inning with four consecutive base hits to take a 3-1 advantage.

The Rebels used a two-run rally to tie the game 3-3 in the fourth inning but Trimble County responded with a run in the fifth to retake the lead 4-3. Trimble continued scoring in the bottom of the sixth when a double by Michael Dunaway and an RBI single by Kyle Sparks fueled two more runs for the eventual 6-3 final.

Trimble County totaled six hits in the contest as Jordan Tingle, Andrew Young, Zack Beard and Conner Beard accounted for the four base hits in the first inning while Dunaway and Sparks collected the final two hits in the sixth.

Despite beginning the game feeling somewhat ill, Tingle picked up the win on the mound for the Raiders. He pitched a complete seven inning game, giving up three runs - one earned - on just three hits while striking out 11.

Trimble County (7-12) hosts Frankfort today.
